This handset seems to set delays, and the Finnish manufacturer has confirmed the bad news, announcing that its flagship smartphone won’t start shipping until “early 2011″.

This handset is going to be released on December 2010. It’s like the Nokia N8 account all over again, as the manufacturer has announced: “To warranty the best promising user experience on the E7 we have decided to begin its delivery in early 2011.”

Nokia and Intel have released the first MeeGo mobile phone operating system build to developers. The new MeeGo OS supports Intel Atom-powered netbooks and in-vehicle infotainment units, as well as ARM-based Nokia N900 smartphone.

According to sources, the MeeGo 1.1 release comes with the MeeGo Handset UX framework, MeeGo Handset Dialer, MeeGo Handset SMS and MeeGo Handset Browser, among other core features. The release also includes the MeeGo 1.1 Core OS.

The Nokia N9 smart phone will be arriving in the UK by 2011. While the news does disappointingly delay the much awaited MeeGo handset, fans of the Nokia N-series will not have to wait too long. The expected launch for the device is early in the first quarter of the year so that means that the phone will still be out soon enough.
